PREPARATION OF PRE-FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR REGIONAL WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT PROJECT FOR ZLATIBOR DISTRICT
The project covers the City of Užice and four municipalities: Arilje, Požega, Kosjerić and Ivanjica in the Zlatibor District in the south-western part of Serbia. The City of Užice is the economic, administrative, health, cultural and sports centre of this district. The total population in the five urban areas is around 158,000 out of which 69,000 are living in the City of Uzice. An average of 60% of the population is connected to the sewer system with the highest connection in Užice around 80%.
OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
The global objective of the project is to improve municipal wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure in the Project Area in compliance with the relevant national legislation and EU Directives, by preparation of documentation which would analyze practicalities and cost-effectiveness of centralized treatment and conveyance of wastewater from the above-mentioned five areas.
The purpose of this assignment is preparation of a Pre-feasibility Study for Zlatibor district Wastewater Management Project which would, apart from the basic technical option for the wastewater conveyance and centralized treatment of wastewater, investigate, analyze and propose alternative technical options for implementation.
Pre-feasibility Study (PFS) will investigate and establish spatial, environmental, social, financial, market and economic feasibility of the proposed alternative technical options, based on which competent authorities could decide on further implementation of the project.
